I have felt in love with cooking, especially when I see the “salivating look” on my children’s face when they are enjoying the food I prepared for them!
I always try to make a “special” dinner on Saturday or Sunday night for the family, as I have more time on the weekends to plan for it and prepare something different than our usual meals. The kids look forward to this as weekend gets closer, and they indeed get excited about these surprising treats from their mum.
Tonight’s menu: Sautéed Lobsters, Garlic-topped Tiger Prawns, and Eggplant Salad
Lobsters and tiger prawns were novel creatures to my kids. Ethan called them “strange prawns”; Stefanie called them “crab-prawns”. There weren’t many tiger prawns in one pound, as they were humongous, and gone in minutes ! The sautéed lobsters also turned out to be very popular. Perhaps no other culture has embraced sautéing or stir-frying (with almost any food) quite like we have; I was quite proud of my own cooking skills; and surely, it would only get better with my family continuously giving me motivation.
